“I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Alber hearing!!! Lisa and her staff genuinely care about you and your hearing experience. I’m 46 and I don’t even know how long it’s been since I’ve been able to understand a conversation in a crowded place without reading lips. I constantly was asking people to repeat themselves to the point I was annoying myself!!!! Lisa and her staff have fitted me with hearing aids and I cannot believe all the things in life I was missing!!! Music sounds better, I hear birds I didn’t before. I can understand what friends and family are saying. And the best part of all, I shave my head and they’re so inconspicuous that people still don’t notice that I’m wearing them!!!! Hearing aids have definitely been a life changing experience for me!!! Thank you Alber Hearing!!!!!”

“Some Thoughts for World Hearing Day 2021:
It’s pretty general knowledge that we inherit genes from our biological parents. In my case, among others, I inherited my Father’s genes for hearing loss! A normally gregarious guy, as he grew older and his hearing loss became worse, he gradually became distanced from his family and friends – withdrew into himself and became lonely. Because he missed out on conversations going on around him, he sometimes felt that others were laughing at him; he was hurt and withdrew even further into himself. Although he had hearing aids, he tended to turn them off to “save the batteries”.
I was determined that I would not suffer the same fate, so when it became clear that I was having to ask folk to repeat what they had said or I was missing parts of other folks’ conversations, I sought out Lisa at Alber Hearing Services. Initially, I did not take kindly to hearing aids, but Lisa was patient and encouraging – wanting to make sure that I was happy with my aids and that they were providing the kind of help that my particular loss warranted. She was not “pushy” – a trait that I found particularly helpful – and I never got the feeling that actually selling me hearing aids was her first priority. My comfort, my ability to hear and my satisfaction was her main focus. It’s now six years since that first pair of hearing aids and, once again, I found that I was having to ask folk to repeat themselves. Technology has changed in the intervening years and it’s now possible to program my hearing aids even more closely to my specific needs.. Once again, I am able to hear sounds that I have been missing without realizing it. Once again Lisa has been encouraging me, wanting me to be satisfied with the way I am hearing things and spending the time to make sure that I am getting the optimum benefit from them. I am so grateful! To anyone who is wondering about their own ability to hear clearly without having to turn the volume up on a device, I would say “Go and talk to Lisa; have a hearing test. It’s pain free and you’ve nothing to lose. You can try out hearing aids for a week or two, to see if they make a difference, before making any decision about purchasing any. You may be surprised and thankful that you did.” I know that I am so grateful that I don’t need to follow in my father’s footsteps and become more and more isolated as my hearing deteriorates.”

“I was unable to hear my family and friends when they spoke to me. I would shout “what” a lot and they would have to shout to repeat themselves. Sometimes I just didn’t answer because I could not hear them. I’d just shrug my shoulders like I knew what they were saying.
I am now able to hear my family and friends and especially my loving husband. I can hear the tv, music and the world around me. Being able to hear my loved ones and laugh with them is a feeling I can’t describe. They have changed my life.
All of the staff at Albers hearing services were kind and made me feel like family. I would recommend them to anyone. They were just as emotional and happy with me and my family when they first tested the device on my own ears. Lisa also gave me a wonderful knitted hat before I had left. I wear it when I go out and it will always be a reminder of one of the best days of my life.”
